This is my (Ross W.) edit of Sotillo's John Deere 7800 for Farming Simulator 17. I got permission from Sotillo to do this, and I think it turned out pretty well. Here is a short list of what I've done:
Added American suitcase weights
Added American step
Added triangle on back and new American drawbar
Added dirt texture
Added new American 2wd wheels with selectable duals
Added new selectable frontloader bracket
Removed right door an a bunch of parts off of the tractor including the top 3-point arm to replicate my grandfather's American 7800, which doesn't even have a top arm
Added new sounds straight from my grandfather's real American 7800
ccs101 had a hand in helping with a few problems that I came across along the way. So special thanks to him.
This mod has one existing error that we couldn't figure out. It involves the frontloader brackets. It will only pop up when the brackets are purchased, but does not affect the mod in any way. It's just there. We've tried everything to make it go away, but no luck. But no harm no foul. Enjoy the mod everyone!

CommentsThis is a very detailed, good looking tractor... performs well and has very nice sounds, just a couple of issues...
There is a warning which appears in the log only when the front loader brackets are purchased for the tractor:
Warning: Invalid front-axis joint '0' in 'C:/Users/****/Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator2017/mods/JD7800/JD7800.xml'
There are some areas which either stay dirty all the time or are not washable... this is due to multiple materials being applied to the same mesh in the model. The only fix is to re-apply materials to the mesh in a 3D program like Blender... On this model the areas in question are not real noticeable until the tractor is full dirty, and then the areas are small (the upper ends of the steering linkage, the inside sections of the front rims and the outside centers and lugnuts of the front rims and a portion of the lower cab)
The 3-point hitch, when attached to an implement, is missing the upper arm... this is usually due to the shared Giants i3d for the upper arm not being specified in the xml, or there not being an i3d file in the mod's folder specified, since none is indicated, nothing is visible...
The tire tracks for the rear tires are the wrong width (a bit wider) and are spaced wider out than the rear wheels... when duals are purchased, they do not leave any tracks...
The tractor is very well done except for these minor issues, which do not affect the game play, so with just a bit more it can be perfect
