The Map Entries will be judged by a combination of a judging panel and a public vote.

Guidelines for Category 1:  Maps

We want to encourage inexperienced map makers and individuals, although teams are also welcome to enter.
There is no set theme for the map.
We only expect to see a single farm with a small number of fields, but feel free to add more.
Your farm does not need to fill the whole 2km x 2km area.
We only expect to see the default FS17 features included in the map.
In addition, Multi Terrain Angle and Chopped Straw are included with the Starter Map.
You can add other features, but minimal additional points will be awarded for this.
You are welcome to use any building, object or texture from any of the maps by Frontier Design.
You can use any building or object currently available as long as you have permission and provide credits.

It may be a single building or a pack of objects.

A note about Competition Entries and WIP Topics

It would be helpful for us to know how many people are entering the competition.  We need to know the category you are entering and the name of your entry.  When you have decided to enter (not just thinking about it) you can let us know in one of three ways:

1) Make a WIP Topic
2) Posts in the Discussion Topic Here
3) PM to myself or BulletBill

If you have any questions about the competition or your entry please contact us.

It is not compulsory to make a WIP topic, but it is encouraged.  Please ensure that the WIP Topic is named 'Modding Mania 2018 WIP - title' so it can be easily identified.

We have created a new Forum Board for all the competition WIP Topics Here.  Please start your topic there.

Please ensure that you follow the standard Rules for WIP Topics Here.

Thank you

Competition Entry Filenames

I have been asked about a naming convention for the zip files when the Modding Mania entries are submitted.

Please use the following format:

FS17_moddingMania_exampleModName.zip

Putting the name of your mod instead of 'exampleModName'

obviously!

Public Vote

With one day left for the public vote for the maps, I'd like to clarify how the public vote will be incorporated into the score.

As stated in This topic The map entries will be ranked according to the number of public votes they receive.

Points will be awarded to the ranked entries as follows:

1st Place - 10 Points
2nd Place - 8 Points
3rd Place - 6 Points
4th Place - 5 Points
5th Place - 4 Points

These points will then be added to the Judges scores to make the final total.

Competition Prizes

The main competition prize for each category will be a copy of the Modern Classics DLC by Mattxjs.  This DLC is one of two Modding DLCs to be released by Giants.  Unfortunately we're not sure now if the DLCs will be released on time, so the prizes may not be available straight away.

Rest assured that we'll get the prizes to the winners as soon as we can.

The prizes will be given to the winners of the four categories:

Category 1:  Maps
Category 2:  Map Objects
Category 3:  Mods
Category 4:  Judges Special Award for The Best Entry from a New Modder

In addition to the Modern Classics DLC, each winner will be given a Custom Title for your Forum Profile to celebrate the win.
